Computer telephony (CT) applications need a way to control telephone calls and receive call events. Workgroup and enterprise configurations can do this with a computer-telephone integration (CTI) server connecting to a telephone switch. The IntelR NetMerge? Call Processing Software (formerly CT Connect) is an open, universal CTI server software that provides the foundation for a growing family of CTI application components. Versions of the call processing software are available for many combinations of popular telephone systems, operating systems, and computer telephone APIS.
Intel® NetMerge Call Information Manager
One benefit of CTI is that caller data can be associated with a call and made available to each application that handles that call. Typically, the initial caller data is collected by an interactive voice response (IVR) system and is later used to display information for customer service representatives who handle the call. The call information manager currently supports the following switches:
  Lucent DEFINITY G3*
  Nortel Networks Meridian I*
  Siemens HICOM 300E*
  Philips Sopho iS 3000*
  Ericsson MD110*
  Nortel Networks Matra*
  Mitel SX2000*
  Alcatel 4400*
  Bosch 133XE*

Intel® NetMerge Call Monitoring Manager
Real-time call monitoring provides valuable call information that customers want — information such as ANI, DNIS, call and agent state changes, and call destination data — to better manage their operations and make the most of their resources. The Intel NetMerge Call Monitoring Manager brings real-time call monitoring functionality to those applications.
The call monitoring manager simplifies call monitoring for large numbers of telephony devices, easily integrating with business applications in the contact center's server software environment. The included sample DLL and API suite gets application developers quickly on track to developing customized DLLs specifically suited to their business needs, such as call detail reporting, workforce management, and resource management.
Intel® NetMerge Call Routing Manager
One way to improve customer satisfaction in a call center is to ensure that callers are directly routed to the appropriate workgroup. To help application developers and integrators implement call routing technology, Intel offers the Intel NetMerge Call Routing Manager. With the call routing manager, you no longer need to implement detailed call routing technology to enable CTI features in your applications. All complex, switch-dependent call monitoring is handled by the call routing manager - simply add the routing logic or a custom routing DLL to meet your individual application specifications. The call routing manager package, which includes a license to the software, currently supports the Lucent DEFINITY G3, Nortel Networks Meridian and the Siemens HICOM 300E, Aspect CallCenter, and other CSTA-compliant telephone systems supporting the standard CSTA call routing feature.
Intel® NetMerge Enhanced SDK
CT application developers and integrators normally implement a standard set of functions that are utilized in most CT applications. To simplify the development of these applications, Intel offers the Intel NetMerge Enhanced Software Development Kit (SDK) for use in conjunction with the open, standards-based Intel NetMerge Call Processing Software. The enhanced SDK builds on basic call processing software functions by providing a more intuitive, higher level telephony programming interface that shields developers from the varying behavior of different telephone switches. The enhanced SDK currently supports the Lucent DEFINITY, Nortel Meridian, Siemens HICOM 300E, and CSTA switches.
CSTA Switch Simulator from Intel
It can be difficult to acquire and configure a telephone system to support CTI application development. The CSTA Switch Simulator provides a simulated telephone environment for testing CTI servers and applications without a telephone system. Use the Switch Simulator to emulate a CSTA-compliant switch environment, including devices such as telephones, trunks and ACD queues.
